Giving a major boost to the dying traditional cinema theatres (Cinema Kottaka) Kerala will soon introduce a project to revive the cinema houses in villages.
Kerala Cultural Affairs Minister AK Balan said watching new release has become an expensive affair in Kerala and the people in villages have to come to the cities to watch the latest release.
"The project needs government consent before it gets implemented across the state. Once approved even NRIs can invest in the project. Movie producers will also benefit from the project as it increases releasing centres," the minister added.
