Kerala Elections 2016 Oommen Chandy VS duel

Daring the Leader of Opposition to prove his accusations within two days, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy reiterated that there was no change in his decision to sue VS Achuthanandan if he did not retract his allegations.

Chandy demanded Achuthanandan to prove his claim that the ministers of the United Democratic Front (UDF) were facing 136 cases. Chandy alone has 31 cases against him, the CPM leader had alleged. Responding to the allegation, Chandy challenged Achuthanandan to produce at least one copy of a case registered against him.

Chandy challenged Achuthanandan to produce at least one copy of a case registered against him.

"The only FIR registered was against former finance minister KM Mani and the it is now under the consideration of the court," said Chandy.
Turning the tables on Achuthanandan and the Left Democratic Front (LDF), Chandy pointed out that the list of left front candidates included murder accused and those who acknowledged having 54 cases pending against them.

During his campaign at Dharmadom in Kannur recently, Achuthanandan had said that there were 136 corruption cases against UDF ministers, including the CM. The UDF government illegally handed over 42,920 acres of land to various individuals and groups. Except the PK Jayalakshmi, almost everybody in the  Chandy cabinet is facing corruption charges, Achuthanandan said.
