Actor Dileep filed a complaint against social media after his name was dragged into the controversy related to the abduction and sexual assault of actress. He complained that the media was trying to defame his image and character.

Dileep submitted the written complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP). It is learnt that the state police chief may order for an immediate probe into the issue.
In his complaint, Dileep said some people consciously tried to crucify him by dragging his name into the issue. He also said that he was pained to hear that police questioned him to know about his involvement in the incident.
There were reports on media that police questioned a prominent actor at his residence in Aluva. It was rumoured that the actor was Dileep as he lives in Aluva.

However, he lashed out against those who spread rumours calling it false. He took to Facebook and said no one came to question him. "The news is false. My name is being dragged to create more controversies," he wrote.
There were some reports that the actor took revenge after the victim took the side of her former wife, in a dispute that led to their divorce. It was also alleged that Dileep made sure that she won't get chances in Malayalam cine industry and she had to take Tamil and Kannada films. However, she managed to come back to Malayalam industry recently and this led to the attack.

Dileep replied that the media houses giving stories on questioning of 'prominent' actor must reveal his name rather than speculate about it.
