Karnataka 4000 PU students will not write exams this year thanks to attendance shortage

This decision was criticised by the students, who staged a protest. Students alleged that the colleges had collected fines from those who had attendance shortage and demanded that they should be allowed to write exams.

One of the officers from the Department of Pre-university Education (DPUE) told the Hindu that these students would have to enrol again for the year 2017-18 academic year to complete their PU course.

The college authorities have said that they tried to increase the attendance of the students who had at least 70% by taking special classes for them.

But the students have alleged that colleges collected fines from those who had attendance shortage and have not cheated them by not giving the hall tickets.
