'Karikunnam 6S' starring Anoop Menon and Manju Warrier in lead roles have been in the news because of its unique story line and big star cast.

Directed by Dipu Karunakaran, the film is set in the backdrop of a prison and Manju plays a volleyball coach, who trains a group of prisoners for a tournament. Scripted by Arun Lal Ramachandran, the sports drama has not many forerunners of the genre in Mollywood.
Though Manju Warrier had done a variety of roles in her career, it is the first time that she is playing a coach. She had gone on record saying that she was a bit too afraid of taking up the role as she was not familiar with sports, not even during school days. But her co-star in the film, Anoop Menon was all in praise for Manju and confessed that he was awestruck by Manju's performance in the film.
"Karinkunnam 6S" has a host of stars in crucial roles the movie was shot inside the Central Prison at Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram and Jimmy George Indoor Stadium.
