12-year-old Kannur girl does a Gurmehar, posts video questioning her father's death

Kannur girl does a Gurmehar political killings

Doing a Gurmehar Kaur - the Delhi University student who criticised ABVP on social media - a 12-year-old Vismaya, daughter of a victim of CPM- RSS conflicts in Kerala, posted a video clipping criticising CPM for political violence in Kannur. The video shows a series of placards, in Hindi, and says "They (CPM) killed not only my dad but my dreams and future also." 
 

Vismaya's father Santhosh was an RSS activist who was allegedly hacked to death by CPM workers at his home in Kannur in January. The placards of Class VIII student, aiming at Hindi speakers, said, "My father wanted to fulfil my dreams, but a night swept away my dreams. They murdered him solely because he was a supporter of RSS_BJP."
 

The video has been widely shared and propagated by activists belonging to Shiv Sena and other right-wing outfits. 

 

 


 

A placard says the girl wanted to become an IPS officer and serve the country. Another card says now she sees only a dark future. "I have not yet got the answer, why they (CPM) killed my father," she asked. 
 

On the day Vismaya's father Santhosh was killed, some persons stormed into her house and hacked him to death. The Sangh Parivar and BJP alleged that the attack was carried out by CPM. 
 

Kannur, the northern district of Kerala, is considered as the stronghold of CPM, but currently, has the largest number of RSS units in the state. The district has seen frequent clashes between RSS and CPM over past three decades. Several persons have lost their lives in political killings.
