Jisha murder court orders in camera trial

Ernakulam district and principal sessions court ordered has decided to conduct in camera trial in the rape and murder case of a dalit law student in Perumbavoor Kerala. The court rejected the oppositions raised by defendant's counsel and said the procedure is to protect the privacy of witnesses and victim. 
 

Defendant's counsel B A Aloor requested an open court trial, but Court decided to conduct proceedings in-camera. There are 195 witnesses in the murder case of Jisha and court said the procedure would ensure their privacy. 
 

As per the charge sheet, the murder was committed by Ammer Ul Islam. The lone accused, a migrant, was also found guilty of various offences including trespass into the house to commit an offence punishable with death under IPC Section 449, wrongful confinement, rape and murder. He was also booked for destroying evidence and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities)Act 1989. 
 

The 1,300-page charge sheet consists of 125 documentary evidence as well 12 75 material evidence. It also comprises of secret statements of two witnesses. 
 

The lone motive behind the murder is explained as sexual gratification and states that Ameer Ul is a sexual pervert.
