Jayalalithaa health: Why has Jaya's health been a highly-guarded secret?

While the AIADMK and AIIMS experts continued to issue identical statements saying that the CM has "completely recovered," the AIADMK Supremo was battling for her life at the very same time. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was moved back to ICU on Sunday evening after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She has been put on (ECMO). ECMO stands for ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation which is mainly a life support system for patients who have suffered cardiac arrest. 

From the crackdown by police on people speculating about her health to the AIADMK refusing to share her photos undergoing treatment at the hospital, the anxiousness over Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's health has now created a ruckus like situation in Chennai. 

Last month, a fake image of Jayalalithaa recuperating in the hospital surfaced on social media and WhatsApp. The image was shared hundreds and thousands of times, before some media outlets actually confirmed that the pictures were fake. 

A hefty fake report on Jaya's deteriorating health conditions also floated on social media for quite some time. 

For AIADMK, the lion’s share of votebank they receive through Amma's presence could well be constituted as the reason behind this lack of information and clarity on her actual health conditions.
