Incessant rains drown Bengaluru, roads blocked

Several major Bengaluru roads have been inundated with three or four feet of water. Heavy damage to property has also been reported from at least 16 spots in the city.

 

In HAL, a compound wall collapsed due to water damage, damaging at least 20 vehicles parked there.

 

In Electronic City, 16 houses have been inundated with rainwater. A pillar of an apartment in Banasavadi has also developed cracks, forcing residents to fear for their safety.

 

At Arakere Kodi Chikkanahalli, rainwater flooded a nearby large drain to such an extent that water flooded houses in surrounding areas.

 

 

 

 

In Anekal

 

Rains have created havoc at Hebbagodi of Anekal taluk. Most houses there have been flooded, making it impossible for the residents to stay there.

 

 

In addition, water from a stormwater drain (Rajakaluve) in Hebbagodi also has made its way into houses in the surrounding area. Currently, the concerned officers are draining water using earth movers.
