If you love us, please repair these dangerous roads: actor Jayasurya's plea to Kerala CM

"If you love us please repair our roads", actor appeals to CM

Troubled by the sight of city roads and the helplessness of an accident victim, actor Jayasurya posted a heartfelt video message to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday.

The actor begins by saying that he witnessed yet another accident on the day. " Sir, I saw a young man skidding off his motorbike today, thanks to the gutters on the road," Jayasurya said, addressing the Chief Minister. " (Luckily) He was wearing a helmet, but broke his limbs. As a layman, one of my greatest concern is the condition of city roads that are full of potholes and cracks, which makes it impossible for us to reach our homes in time,"  he said.

The dilapidated city roads are causing numerous accidents every day. "There should be an end to this. if you truly care and love us, please find a solution for this," the actor appealed in the video posted on his Facebook page.

The video was well received by the netizens and got widely shared. More than 17,000 people shared the video in a matter of six hours and received more than 4.3 lakh likes.

A couple of years back, the actor received bouquets and brickbats for taking initiative to repair a dilapidated road in Kochi city. Jayasoorya, along with his fans, friends, auto drivers and traffic police personnel, filled up potholes on the road, as a protest against the apathy of the authorities. It also invited the wrath of the city corporation officials, prompting Tony Chammany, who was the Mayor of the city then, to call it a publicity stunt.
