The customers of Idea mobile network flocked the service provider's office in Kakkanad near Ernakulam after lakhs of customers couldn't connect to their mobile network across the state.

Idea Cellular service, touted to be the number one service provider in Kerala reported a technical glitch and the network came to an abrupt halt on Saturday morning.
According to reports, the network services of over 1 crore customers were affected after the company's master switching centre developed a technical snag.
Initially, the company denied the snag and told customers that the problem was with their phone but later admitted that they had a technical glitch and assured that it would be fixed by the evening. However, people who depended on mobile service for their livelihoods alleged that the disruption has brought huge losses to them.
It is also reported that Airtel's service is facing network issues at many places.
From tech-savvy youth to fishermen, mobile phones and the internet play a huge role in the day-to-day lives of the population in the state that has the highest mobile penetration in the country.
