Husband kills wife for not giving birth to male child
- Shashikumar had married Bhagyamma for love.
- But the greed for male child cost made the husband killed his wife.
- Now her three daughters have become orphans.
FollowShashikumar and Bhagyamma are the residents of Jogimatti village, Chitradurga district. Twelve years ago Shashikumar fell in love with Bhagyamma and convinced her and her family members for the marriage.
After the birth of three daughters frustrated Shashikumar lost his interest in his wife and started torturing her every day. When the squabble grew year after year, finally one day Shashikumar poisoned his wife and tried to pass it off a suicide by hanging her body by the ceiling.
The parents of Bhagyamma say that their daughter was sharing her anguish with them since several years. “Many times we interfered and resolved the problem. But we never imagined that he is going to do this cruelty to our daughter” says Bhagyamma’s mother.
A guilty Shashikumar later tried to take own life by taking poison and is currently admitted to Chitradurga Government hospital.
Chitradurga police have filed a case against him and are waiting for him to get discharged from the hospital for further enquiry.
