Hungry jumbos raid house, feast on gold!

Hungry jumbos devour gold

A couple of mischevious calves, separated from the herd, took an evening stroll around a village in Gudalur in Tamil Nadu on Monday night and barged into a house in Shanti estate when they felt hungry. There they feasted on some expensive meal!

In a matter of seconds, the little ones gobbled up ₹ 43,000 in cash and five sovereigns of gold! The paper money must have been no match for fresh grass. So, they puked it. But the gold ornaments remained in!

The situation turned worse when the calves finished supper and tried to get out of the house. When the calves got stuck in the house, the elder tuskers reached the spot and tried to rip off the doors and windows to rescue the little ones. The animals also ransacked the house, destroying electronic goods and furniture.

Rahim, his wife and their two-year-old daughter had ran to safety when the herd raided their house. Total loss is estimated to be more than ₹ 3.5 lakhs.
