The victim has been identified as Higoi Gunte, who is a student at Christ University and is residing at a rented house on Bannerghatta Road.
According to the sources, Gunte was at home on Monday night, when his owner barged inside the house and assaulted him for no reason. They said the owner was drunk.
He was later admitted to the hospital by the North-East community members, who got came to know about the incident. Gunte has been discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. He has suffered injuries including a cut and bruise marks on his body.
However, the Deputy Commissioner of Police South East and Nodal Officer for North East Community Security Welfare said that he is not aware of any such case and assured that a case will be registered if the complaint is filed.
