Girls beware, your mobile numbers are being sold

It is reported that some mobile currency recharge shops are misusing the phone numbers of their lady customers. In Uttar Pradesh police have caught a huge mafia of shop keepers who were involved in exchanging the mobile phone numbers of lady customers with some miscreants. 

In those shops the rates of the numbers are varies on the basis of the attractiveness of the lady, from ₹ 50 to ₹ 500. The Uttar Pradesh police helpline started receiving complaints from girls alleging indecent calls and messages from anonymous numbers. Then the police started probing the matter and discovered the existence of this mafia.

The UP police sources say that there is no any provision in the law to prosecute the shopkeepers who sell or exchange the phone numbers of their lady customers. However, the police have arrested some shopkeepers for helping people to purchase SIM cards using fake documents. It is said that only three shopkeepers are being arrested on this allegation so far. Besides, those who make indecent calls or send ugly messages never use their authorised mobile numbers.

UP Police say that it is difficult to track those miscreants as they are making indecent calls and messages to ladies from SIM cards purchased by fake documents. Hence the police are searching for shopkeepers who are accepting fake documents to sell the SIM cards.

• In case of emergency, get your mobile recharged from your husband, father or brother for you.
• Change your mobile number to post paid plan, if there are any good offers.
• Inform the police immediately if you are tortured by miscreants.
