The Malayalam film industry organised a protest meeting at the Durban Hall in Kochi to offer their solidarity and support to the actress who was kidnapped, and a rape case has been filed. This protest meet was attended by many famous actors including Manju Warrier, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan and Nivin Pauly.
Speaking at this meeting, Superstar Mammootty said that manliness should not be forced upon a woman and that the whole of Malayalam film fraternity shares the sorrow and pain of the famous actress.
The actor further addressed the actress as sister and reaffirmed that she is not alone and that apart from police, government and law, those who love her also stand by her.
Actor Dileep also spoke at the protest meeting and validly pointed out that this issue is not just related to the film industry but also concern the whole state of Kerala. Director Kamal praised the actress for showing courage by reporting the incident.
