Kerala's FM Isaac all praises for Kejriwal

Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac paid a visit to Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal on Monday and showered praises on the AAP leader for his administrative reforms. Isaac, an eminent economist and experienced minister, made no secret of his admiration for the taxation policy of the Delhi government and felt that the 24% spike in Delhi's tax revenue this year was just stupendous. 

When in the national capital, state ministers usually give priority to meeting central ministers to seek more funds. But I chose to pay a visit to Aravind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, the Kerala finance minister wrote on Facebook. Just as in many other administrative reforms, Kejriwal brought in a slew of reforms in tax administration. Delhi's remarkable increase in tax revenue is partly due to the Central Sales Tax compensation. But along with that the state introduced some attractive schemes to stop tax leakage, Isaac said.

Kerala has many things to emulate from the AAP government. Now the Kejriwal government is planning to bring in legislation to make tax collection more efficient. The bill will usher in substantial changes in tax collection, the minister wrote after meeting the Delhi CM. 
 

"We can also experiment Kejriwal's techniques to seal the tax leakage. It will not be as easy as Delhi though. But let's give it a try," said Isaac. The Delhi CM had also invited Tax officials to meet the Kerala minister. Kejriwal presented a copy of his book Swaraj to Isaac.
