Desperate for smartphone gym instructor murders Flipkart deliveryman

Early on December 9, an anonymous dead body was found in the cellar of a building in Vijayanagar.

After the enquiry it was found that the name of deceased was Nanjunda Swamy (28) and he was working as a courier boy for Flipkart. The police were confused as to the motive of the murder initially.

It later emerged that Varun Kumar (22), a resident of Mudalapalya, who works in a gym located in the third floor of the commercial building in Saraswatinagar, was the last person the delivery man had spoken to.

Varun Kumar had booked for a mobile phone on  December 8 through Flipkart. The next day, when Nanjunda Swamy, the courier boy came near the gym at around 12.30 p.m. and called Varun Kumar to deliver the mobile phone.

He told Varun Kumar over the telephone, to come to the cellar of the building to deliver the mobile phone. When Nanjunda Swamy went to the cellar, Varun Kumar immediately attacked him with iron rods and killed him at the spot.

Since Nanjunda Swamy did not return home and his mobile phone was switched off his wife Lakshmi filed a missing complaint at Byatarayanapura Police Station on 10th December. The police tracked his mobile call records and found that the last call was made on 9th December 12.30 p.m. to Varun Kumar from Saraswatinagar. The police reached the address of Varun Kumar and found the dead body in the cellar of the commercial building.
