Former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president EVKS Elangovan criticised the ‘back door’ entry of Sasikala for the post of CM. Elangovan also affirmed that very few AIADMK workers and people of Tamil Nadu will accept VK Sasikala as the CM of the state.
Tamil Nadu politics is in shambles currently as O Paneerselvam (OPS) has revolted against VK Sasikala, after the former visited Jayalalithaa’s grave on Tuesday night. OPS had resigned from the post of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu few days ago. Simultaneously, Sasikala was appointed as the chief of AIADMK, slowly making her way towards the chair of the Chief Minister.
However, former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president EVKS Elangovan criticised the ‘back door’ entry of Sasikala for the post of CM. Elangovan firmly stated that only a person who is elected by the voters should occupy the hot seat of CM and not anyone else. The current situation definitely does not augur well for Tamil Nadu and it remains to be seen what happens after this.
"Only those elected by the people should occupy the chair of the Chief Minister and not come through the back door. This development does not augur well for the state," Elangovan was quoted as saying by The Huffington Post.
Elangovan also affirmed that very few AIADMK workers and people of Tamil Nadu will accept VK Sasikala as the CM of the state. The loyal AIADMK party workers will not be accepting this decision. At the moment, all eyes are on the Governor of the state, who is in Maharashtra currently and has no plans to come back to Chennai any time soon.
The former TNCC president also felt that AIADMK would end up losing the forthcoming civic polls badly and DMK-Congress alliance are likely to continue.
