Jailed gang members file notice against Dandu Palya sequel

A Bengaluru city civil court has issued a notice against the cast, director and producers of the Kannada film Dandu Palya 2, asking them to cease filming for the time being. 

The notice is related to a plea filed by the six jailed members of the infamous Dandu Palya, who are seeking a stay on the release of the movie. The six, one of whom is a woman, committed a series of gruesome murders in the town of Dandu Palya, and are currently imprisoned for a number of crimes. 

The convicts argued that since several cases against them were still pending in court, the film could adversely affect the judgement. They also asked the court to order the filmmakers to first secure the convicts' permission before releasing a film on their lives.
