Crackdown on Sasikala faction Sarathkumar wakes up to IT knocks

It is surprising that the raid was conducted on actor and AISMK leader Sarathkumar just a day after he declared his support to the Sasikala faction for the RK Nagar Polls. He openly showed his support to TTV Dinakaran. Even Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Bhaskar is known as the close aide of Sasikala, who gave her support from the beginning, especially when Panneerselvam revolted against Chinnamma. Bhaskar is close to the Mannargudi family too.

Soon after the raid, Sarathkumar’s family doctor arrived at the actor’s house after he complained of a headache.

Another prominent person to be raided was MGR Medical University VC Dr Geetalakshmi and AIADMK leader Chitlapakkam Rajendran. Interestingly, just a few days ago, Geetalakshmi had received Dr BC Roy award, the most prestigious award for a medical professional in India, from the President.

The raids have been conducted just a day after the State police took action against real estate firms, said to be close to former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

Currently, the raid was conducted at 34 places in the state, including 23 in Chennai alone.

However, the DMK leaders have said that the raids are the right thing happening now as many ministers and leaders are alleged of using money power to woo people ahead of by-polls in RK Nagar Constituency. In fact, Vijaya Bhaskar is known to have taking care of 34 booths in RK Nagar.
