IT Raid: New currency notes worth ₹70 crore seized in Chennai

  • Officers also seized 100 kg gold
  • A total of ₹90 crore cash seized
  • ₹1.75 crore was seized and eight people were arrested on Wednesday

The I-T department personnel have recovered ₹90 crore in cash after they busted a money exchange racket operating from Chennai. Of the total amount, ₹70 crore was in new currency.

It can be noted that the I-T sleuths had arrested eight persons on Wednesday and had seized a whopping sum of ₹1.75 crore.

Businessmen Sekar Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy and Prem were questioned by the IT sleuths in this regard.
