The Congress government in Karnataka has come under fire, after it came to light that the state ministers spent ₹2.79-crore in mere eight months on helicopter rides and special flights.

Upon the request of the opposition, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah presented the travel expenditure of the leaders.

The detailed lists found that 32 Congress ministers spent ₹ 2.80 crores from April to October for travelling.

While answering to K Gopalaiah, JDS leader, Siddaramaiah gave this written answer. “ Just for special flight and helicopters services for our ministers the government spent ₹ 1.73 crores and ₹ 1.10 crore for car and taxi expenditure,” he said.

Siddaramaiah, however, has spent a mere ₹ 3.82 lakhs in these 8 months.

Law Minister TB Jayachandra has made the highest travelling expenses of ₹ 27. 30 lakhs and Forest Minister B. Ramanath Rai spent ₹21.47 lakhs.
