Congress leader abuses lady IAS officer in Mysuru in public

Congress leader abuses senior IAS officer in Mysuru

Congress leader K Mari Gowda, local zila panchaya president in Mysuru and close acquaintance of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah publicly abused C Shikha, Deputy Commissioner  of Mysuru in public on Sunday. He was upset that she had not transferred Naveen Joseph, tehsildar of Mysuru even after he was promoted and scheduled to leave for his new posting.

According to Suvarna News, Gowda has previously forced C Shikha to help him in his personal affairs which she had refused. On Sunday, Gowda arrived at the Government guest house in Mysore along with his supporters and publicly scolded her using unbecoming language.

The incident happened during an iftar party, which was also attended by the CM Siddaramaiah.

C Shikha has now filed a case against Gowda at the Nazarbad Police station for disrupting government procedures and using abusive words under IPC 143, 147, 504 and 353. Subsequently, the police have now lodged an FIR against Gowda.

This comes at a time when politicians in Karnataka have been criticised for trying to use their influence over senior IAS and police officers like Anupama Shenoy who alleged that she was targeted by labour minister PT Parmeshwar Naik for reportedly supporting the local liquor mafia in Bellary which pushed her to resign.
