The issue came to light when his wife Sindhu filed a case with the Chennai police that her husband’s car was found abandoned in the Chennai airport on May 28.
Sources said that he had written to some of his close friends that he was going to Varanasi to attain Samadhi. A team of police have been searching for him in Varanasi. So far the police have traced a lodge in Varanasi, where he stayed for a couple of days but has not left any trace of where he is now.
Meanwhile the police have found another angle to the missing case as a number of parents of children have filed a complaint against Madhan alleging him of cheating them out of several lakh. They have accused Madhan of promising their children a medicine seat in SRM Institutes for several lakh rupees each.
Last week, 12 parents had staged a protest in front of SRM Institute chairman Pachamuthu’s house as their children were not considered for a seat, even after paying the heavy amount. It was said that Madhan was close to him.
However, Madhan’s friends had another story to tell. They said in the letter he sent to them, Madhan had mentioned about harassment from the SRM management. His wife Sindhu had also told the police that many people were unhappy with Madhan’s proximity to Pachamuthu.
A team in Varanasi is trying to find Madhan’s whereabouts and the police in Chennai are looking into this new twist in the story.
