Cauvery row Mandyada Gandu Ambareesh missing in action

Well known as the 'Mandyada Gandu' (the man of Mandya), actor Ambareesh is facing flak for not participating in any protest over the sharing of Cauvery water. Indeed, he is yet even to issue a statement on it.

Mandya district farmers will be severely affected by the ongoing release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.

Fears over a water shortage, or even a drought in the region, led to intense protests in Mandya.

Other Sandalwood actors from the district like Darshan, Yash and Satish Ninasam either took part directly in the protest or posted messages of support.

Yash, who is currently shooting in Norway, also posted a message on Facebook extending his support to the protest, while requesting people to protest peacefully.

But during all of this, the most famous in Kannadiga from Mandya, Ambareesh, who is also an MLA from Mandya Constituency, has not given any statements on the issue.

It has been reported that he did not even attend the farmers meeting held at the Legislators House regarding the sharing of water between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Speaking to the media about his absence, a leader of farmers, Puttannaiah, said, “We have not seen him. Please let us know if you meet him.”

“We all love Ambareesh. Especially in this time when Mandya is undergoing a difficult situation, Ambarreesh should have been amidst the people, supporting our cause,” said Puttannaiah.
