Cauvery row Karnataka CM to take final decision after eight pm meet

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will hold a special meeting of the Cabinet at 8 pm to make his final decision on whether or not to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. 

 

The opinions expressed at the Cabinet meeting held in the morning will be kept before the Congress Party high command. A discussion in this regard will be held with the team of advocates representing Karnataka. The government is expected to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the options before it.

 

Siddaramaiah will also meet the former prime minister and JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda at the latter’s residence to discuss the issue.

 

Later, he will meet the leaders of opposition parties and get their opinions. 

 

After considering the opinions of the Congress high command, advocates and opposition leaders, a final meeting of Cabinet members will be held at 8 pm in Bengaluru, where a definite decision will be taken on whether to follow Supreme Court’s verdict and release water to Tamil Nadu or not.
