BSF inspector shot dead  at Vadakara

A Border Security Force (BSF) Inspector deployed for election duty at Vadakara in Kozhikode was allegedly shot dead by a fellow personnel on Thursday night.


 The deceased was identified as BSF camp inspector Ram Gopal Meena, 45, a native of Rajasthan. The incident occurred at the camp at Islamic Academy School at Kottakkal in Vadakara, around 11.30 PM. 


According to police,  BSF jawan, Umesh Pal Singh shot Meena following a dispute over sanctioning leave. The inspector was rushed to the hospital immediately but succumbed to the injuries. The police have launched a search for Yadav, who is suspected to have escaped with the rifle soon after the incident. 
The police suspect that at least six rounds were fired by the jawan. The body of the victim kept at Vadakara Cooperative Hospital now will be released after postmortem on Friday. 

A special investigation team has been formed by the Kerala Police to investigate the incident.
