BJP’s Diary bomb confronted by Congress’s CD threat; ruckus in BBMP office

Recently, BJP State President Yeddyurappa had exposed a diary which allegedly had details of donations received by the Congress High Command from its leaders in the state. To retaliate Congress members alleged that they have the CD of irregularities committed by the BJP in Yelahanka.

The BBMP’s general meeting witnessed Congress and BJP members pushing and trashing each other over the CD threat. It all started with the Congress member Venkatesh while speaking at the meeting announced that he has the CD of the misappropriation and irregularities by the BJP members in Yelahanka. He even showed a CD while speaking. “BJP leaders themselves had written a diary and made it look like it belonged to the Congress leaders. Look here the Congress too has a CD against you BJP leaders,” Venkatesh said.

This angered the BJP members who demanded that Venkatesh should screen the CD in the meeting. If no proof for BJP’s irregularities found, Venkatesh should be disqualified from Baig, a member of the BBMP.

But Venkatesh said that it was not the time and place to show what is on the CD and that he would screen it when needed.

This did not satisfy the BJP members who stormed the well of the house and started protesting. They accused Venkatesh of calling BJP leader Yeddyurappa with disrespect and asked the Mayor to suspend him from the House.

With situation not coming under the control, Mayor postponed the meeting till lunch. But even after the lunch there was no improvement in the situation and members were still seen protesting.

BJP members continued to demand suspension of Venkatesh and even started pushing the Congress members. Meanwhile, BJP leaders caught hold of Venkatesh and tried to snatch the CD from him. In this process, they injured Congress members Manjula, Irfan Baig and Abdul Wajid. Following this, Mayor postponed the meeting indefinitely.
