BJP threatens to disrupt Pinarayi Vijayan's Hyderabad visit

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again issued a threat against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, prior to his visit to Hyderabad on March 19 to attend a public meeting held by CPM. BJP MLA Raja Singh has said that he 'would see how the meeting would happen if Kerala Chief Minister is attending it.' 
 

Vijayan is supposed to visit Hyderabad to attend a public meeting held to mark the culmination of ongoing 'Mahajana Padayatra,' organised by CPM Telangana unit. He is the chief guest of the meeting.  
 

BJP MLA, in a video message, alleged that the members of BJP and RSS are being targeted and killed in Kerala. "Kerala CM is visiting Hyderabad to attend a meeting at Nizam College grounds. How can we remain silent during his visit? I will see how the meeting will happen if Vijayan is attending it," he said. 
 

The stage for the protest was set during a meeting of Jagrutha Bharat and Martyrs Memorial Research Institute last week. BJP president K Laxman, who attended the meeting, accused Vijayan of playing murder politics. 
 

BJP general secretary G Premendar Reddy too threatened that the party wouldn't allow Kerala Chief Minister to attend the meeting. 
 

The five-month long Mahajana Padayatra was organised by CPM Telangana state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadran. Party held the tour demanding inclusive development and social justice of Telangana state. The public meeting aims to garner support from the intelligentsia, Left parties and organisations working for people's right. 
 

Responding to the threat from BJP leaders, CPM Politburo member B V Raghavulu said that it is a habit of right-wing groups to issue threats and the party would organise the meeting democratically.
