In a new twist to the second PU Chemistry question paper leak case, the sleuths of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), have arrested a BJP leader on Wednesday.

 

The arrested was identified as Gangabyraiah, a former BBMP corporator from Dr Rajkumar ward. Gangabyraiah is the 17th accused in the case who has been arrested.

 

Gangabyraiah had purchased the chemistry question paper for Kumarswamy alias Kiran, his grandson. The deal was done with the help of an LIC agent Manjunath, also one of the accused in the PU question paper leak. Gangabyraiah was in touch with him had bought the question paper for Rs. 80, 000,” said an official.

 

The probe further revealed that the house of the former corporator was used by the accused to prepare students for the leaked chemistry question paper exam. The answer scripts for the question paper were prepared at his residence in Basaveshwaranagar.
