"BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan is like Sachin Tendulkar to me,"  cricketer-turned-politician S Sreesanth has said.

The cricketer, who is contesting on a BJP ticket from Thiruvananthapuram assembly constituency was interacting on Facebook Live of Asianet News Online.
"He (Kummanam) is very humble like Sachin and is my favourite leader in the state," former Indian pacer said during the chat.

People of Thiruvananthapuram are well aware of the contributions of BJP leader O Rajagopal during his stint as Union Minister. The state will benefit a lot from having a BJP MLA in the capital city, Sreesanth said.

"I respect Sashi Tharoor. I'm just 33 now and yes, I have a lot to learn," Sreesanth replied to a query on Shashi Tharoor's dig that he needed to 'do  homework' and stick to outswingers.'
"I have fifty more years in politics. And I look forward to working with MP Sashi Tharoor after becoming an MLA. Anyway, it will be great to work with him," Sreesanth said.

Earlier, Tharoor had told media that by fielding Sreesanth the BJP had  conceded defeat the Thiruvananthapuram seat.
