Young BJP corporator, father die in road accident in Kerala

Young BJP corporator and her father died in a road accident at Kollam in Kerala on Tuesday evening. Search is on for the car that sped past after hitting the motorbike travelled by the corporator.  

Kokila S Kumar,23,  the youngest council member of Kollam Corporation, was returning with her father on a motorcycle after taking part in an Onam celebration when the accident occurred. An overspeeding car hit the motorbike from behind at around 10 p.m on Tuesday, killing her on the spot. Her father, Sunil Kumar, 50, died on Wednesday morning at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. 

The police are on the search to find the car that did not stop after causing the accident. 

Kokila was the youngest among the 55 councillors of Kollam Corporation and a B.Ed student of Karmala Rani Training College. Elected to the corporation from Thevalli ward, she was one of the two BJP representatives in the council.
