Bhaskar Shetty murder case: Delay in probe brings new investigation officer?

Though the transfer is not officially confirmed, there is growing dissent in actions of the current investigating police officer SV Girish.

Bhaskar’s family members, including his mother Gulabi Shetty and younger sister Jayanthi Shetty, have accused the wife Rajeshwari, son Navaneeth of Bhaskar and the astrologer Niranjan Bhat of foul play.

“Bhaskar’s wife and son along with the priest killed my brother, and we did not even get to see his body. They should be given capital punishment,” an emotional Jayanthi said in an interview with Prime TV.

Further, she accused police of being involved in the crime. “Police took ten days to tell us our brother was no more. When initially we wanted to file a complaint against Bhaskar’s wife and son, but the police asked us to submit a missing person complaint. They are also involved in it,” she said.

Chandrashekhar Shetty, a relative of Bhaskar, alleged that Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth Shetty were having affairs, which he claimed Bhaskar was opposed to.

Chandrashekhar was also quoted by Daijiworld claiming that Rajeshwari's monthly telephone bill crossed ₹40,000.

With the new officer taking charge soon, the investigation may pick up speed, say sources.
