Meet Karnataka's Cassanova, who has six brides and five frauds

Karnataka’s home-grown Cassanova, Rasheed of Koppal, is a notorious man. 

The issue came to light when one of his wives - Asiya of Bhadravathi - filed a complaint with the police when her husband (Rasheed) deserted her, but not before he robbed her off all her gold.

Asiya was earlier married to an abusive husband so she walked out of the marriage with her two kids and moved out separately. When she met first met Rasheed, he serenaded her and literally pleaded with her to enter into another wedlock.

However, Asiya complained that he was rarely ever at home; citing work as an excuse to avoid coming home most of the times. The last time Rasheed came home, he left the house not only with gold, but also all valuables in the house including the furniture.

Bhadravathi police filed a case and started an investigation. The information they unearthed shocked Asiya. The police found that Rasheed had married four earlier times and had created fake documents so he could marry Asiya.

According to the latest update, Rasheed is now on his way to tye the knot for the sixth time. The police, however, seem disinterested in pursuing the paramour further, says Asiya. She alleged that they have been bribed into silence by Rasheed.
