Sudeep replaces Punith Rajkumar as Bengaluru’s Smart City ambassador
FollowBengaluru, in an effort to be included in the smart city list, now has roped in noted Kannada cinestar Sudeep as brand ambassador to spread awareness in the metro city.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) is all set to roll out several cleanliness drives to promote the smart city concept in the city.
Sudeep will be promoting the central government’s Swatchhatha Abhiyaana and Namma Swatchha Bengaluru Abhiyaana programs, Mayor B N Manjunatha Reddy said.
He has also expressed his interest in participating in print and visual advertisements related to promoting awareness about hygiene and importance of cleanliness among the people, Reddy added.
The Mayor said that in another 20 days report has to be submitted for inclusion of Bengaluru in the proposed list of Smart Cities as envisaged by the Union Government and Sudeep happens to be the right choice.
BBMP earlier had planned to rope in Punith Rajkumar and the actor also had accepted the offer. However, later there were no dates available with the actor for the ad campaigns, following which Sudeep was requested to join, BBMP commissioner Manjunath Prasad said.
