A seven-year-old girl was allegedly beaten with a leather belt by her tutor for not doing her homework. The girl has been going for tuitions in her neighbourhood at Subhash Nagar, Nelamangala for over a year.

But on Tuesday evening after she returned from tuitions, her parents were horrified to see bruises all over her body. According to the girl, Latha, her tuition teacher thrashed her brutally with a leather belt after she found out that the girl had not done her homework. Followed by which the parents soon approached the police. 

According to the police, they had gone to Latha's residence to arrest her after the initial investigation; however, she had already fled by the time the police reached. The investigation further revealed that this not for the first time that Latha had thrashed students who were weak in studies. 

“But this is the first complaint we have received against the teacher. A case has been booked against her,” an investigating officer told The Hindu.
