BDA accepts L and T offer work on steel bridge to start soon

As protests are being held by various groups in Bengaluru against the steel flyover from Basaveshwara Circle to Hebbal, the government has given green signal to the project, to the shock of those protesting.

L&T will carry out the project in agreement with Nagarjuna Construction. Recently, the length of the flyover was extended till Esteem Mall and only recently, till Columbia Asia Hospital on Ballari Road after the Cabinet approval.

By accepting the LoA, the company has agreed to implement the project with the lowest bid, and it is a confirmation from the BDA to start the work with immediate effect.

Accordingly, the LoA states that the company should complete the work in ₹1791 crore. The deadline to implement the project starts from the day the letter is given.

Another agreement will be signed between the BDA and L&T after the company deposits 5% surety.

Meanwhile, the BDA is busy preparing a detailed project report (DPR) of the steel bridge project on 1.65 km extension proposed. Soon, the DPR will be put before the Cabinet for approval.

It can be noted that L&T was accused of substandard work near Bengaluru International Airport.
