In a car accident that occurred on Sunday, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) corporator Mahesh Babu (40) Balaji (40) and Mudasir Pasha (45) were killed when a Swift car crashed into their car at Srirangapatna in Mandya district.
The car, coming in from the opposite direction, crashed into the corporator's car which lost its control, killing three and injuring one passenger.
The passengers in the Swift car, Suresh (38), his wife Bhavya (28), their son Subhash (9) and the driver Kumar (40) were severely injured.
They were taken to a private hospital for treatment.
BBMP Mayor Manjunatha Reddy said, "I had a good rapport with all the corporators irrespective of their political parties. Mahesh had a deep concern for the welfare of his ward and worked towards developing it."
The cremation will be held today at 11 am at Wilson garden in Bengaluru. BBMP commissioner N Manjunath has issued an order to all the BBMP offices, schools and colleges to remain shut on Monday.
