Bandh Travel to Tamil Nadu to be affected on Friday

Following the bandhs held in Karnataka over releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, now the latter has decided to shut down on September 16.

This bandh is expected to have an effect on various regions in Karnataka bordering Tamil Nadu. Additional police forces have been deployed at Anekal, Sarjapur, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner NS Megharikh has directed all Deputy Commissioners of Police to be present and take measures to avoid any untoward incident in sensitive areas.

In this context, it has been suggested that travel plans from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu be postponed. There are chances that the situation will turn tense as the bandh in Karnataka was not peaceful.

Especially shops situated at the border and vehicles crossing the border of these states might be most affected.
