Bandh: Schools-colleges closed, no buses-autos, shops to be shut

 

The situation in Hubballi-Dharwad, Gadag and Belagavi is tense. Leaders of various associations met in Dharwad and discussed the bandh on Saturday. Accordingly, most of the services across the state will not be available from 6 am to 6 pm. An action plan was chalked out during the meeting.

 

The police have also made arrangements to control the law and order situation in the state. As a precautionary measure, a high-alert has been announced in Hubballi-Dharwad and section 144 has been imposed in those twin cities till Monday.

 

Police personnel conducted a flag march on Friday evening. Hubbali-Dharwad Police Commissioner Panduranga Rane held meetings with the leaders of various organisations and sought their cooperation in observing the bandh peacefully.

 

A Border Security Force (BSF) platoon has been stationed at Belagavi and Naragunda, which witnessed violent incidence in the last two days.

 

So, all schools and colleges across the state will be closed on Saturday. Shops will not open and vehicles, including buses from the transport department, will not ply.
