Attibele inspector accuses MP DK Suresh of abuse, files complaint

Attibele sub inspector Srinivas writes against MP DK Suresh

Attibele police sub-inspector Srinivas has filed a complaint with Bengaluru Rural superintendent of police Amit Singh, accusing Member of Parliament DK Suresh of publicly abusing  and insulting him.

DK Suresh had convened a meeting of inspectors and sub-inspectors of Anekal (a Taluk of Bangalore Urban district) at his Sadashivnagar residence.

Attibele inspector Rajesh, Anekal inspector Malathesh Jigani, Inspector Mohan and Bannerghatta sub-inspector Murali took part in the meeting.

In his complaint, PSI Srinivas stated that at the end of the meeting, DK Suresh started questioning Srinivas and asked him which station he belonged to.

When Srinivas answered that he was from Attibele police station, Suresh accused Srinivas of demanding hafta (a weekly bribe) from people in his locality.

The letter said that Suresh told Srinivas, “You are a hafta collector. It seems you torture people by demanding money.”

"His statement has hurt me, and I am mentally disturbed by these baseless allegations. I have proof of Suresh insulting me. I request the department to take necessary actions," Srinivas’s letter requested.

Sources say that friction existed between the two over a recent suicide case reported in the Attibele police station.

Recently a youth named Ranjith Kumar had committed suicide, blaming the parents of the girl he was in love with for his death.

Following a complaint registered in the Attibele station against the parents of the girl, sub-inspector Srinivas had filed an FIR.

This move, it is alleged, angered DK Suresh.

DK Suresh, incidentally, is the brother of DK Shivakumar, who is a cabinet minister in the Karnataka state government. DK Shivakumar has been in a series of apparently endless controversies ever since the government came to power.
