At last Ambareesh makes it to Assembly speaks for Mandya

Addressing the Assembly, MLA Ambareesh said that all parties should abide by the decision taken at this meeting.

“Mandya and Malavalli in Karnataka are dry, whereas Tanjavur is like velvet thanks to the availability of water. The all-party meeting is a good thing, and all should abide by the decision taken in the Assembly,” Ambareesh said, addressing the Assembly.

"Let Tamil Nadu build a dam and collect the water which is flowing into the sea," he added.

Earlier, Ambareesh was criticised for his absence and silence on the Cauvery issue. He was in the US attending the AKKA Kannada conference.

Even though some actors like Yash, Sudeep and Prakash Raj made their presence felt through social media and stars like Puneeth Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar, Darshan, Upendra took part actively in the Cauvery movement; Ambareesh was not only missing but also silent on the issue.

However, after returning to Bengaluru on September 28, he spoke at a press conference and said his heart beat for the people suffering without Cauvery water. He said he would go to Mandya once the Supreme Court gives out its verdict on September 30.
