‘Art of Living’ accused of encroaching 2 acres of land belonging to dalits

The Art of Living has landed itself in yet another controversy, as allegations are now doing the round that AOL has encroached up 2 acres of land belonging to dalit farmers, who now are being threatened against carrying out any agricultural activities.

The State Farmers’ Association and Human Rights Committee President Girish Gowda had alleged that Art of Living has encroached 2 acres land belonging to Dalits in Rajaanukunte Village in Bangalore North.

Gowda told the press that the Art of Living organization encroached upon the lands belonging to the Dalits by producing fabricated land documents two years ago for the construction of Ayurvedic Education Institution under its management.

Rumour has it that AOL also sent in goons to threaten the Dalit farmer against carrying any cultivation activities in the said land. The police also allegedly refused to lodge any complaint and instead threatened the farmers.

Gowda now has warned that if AOL does not return the farm lands within 15 days, the farmers’ association with organize a protest outside the Centre.
