An IAS officer’s plea to save water touches the right chord

“Today, social media messages can be used to create a deeper impact on social causes to save the lives of many. I firmly believe that if we share good things on social media it will certainly bring about some change. Hence, I am trying to create awareness through this medium” says Shalini Rajneesh.

Since Rajneesh started her career as Assistant Commissioner in Dakshin Kannada, Karnataka she has conducted many successful projects in rainwater harvesting in Kalaburgi and Dakshin Kannada.

She is now stationed at Tumkur district and continues her good work in the district as well.

This monsoon, she plans to make arrangements to conserve rain water in Amanikere - the biggest lake of Tumkur, a water body that spreads over 650 acres.
