Amma inspired NaMo Canteen set up in Hubballi

Nagappa Pattar used to run a restaurant named ‘Annapoorna Idli Centre’ in Nekara Nagar, Hubballi in Karnataka.

But in apparent homage to the Prime Minister, and in a nod to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he has changed the restaurant’s name to ‘Namo Canteen’ and revised the rates of the menu to match the style of the 'Amma Canteens' in Tamil Nadu.

Nagappa Pattar, along with his wife, run the restaurant where only breakfast is served. The timings of the restaurant are from 6.00 am. to 12. pm.

All items in the menu - like idli, dosa, poori, etc. - are ₹10 per plate. Besides, a cup of tea is free with every plate of breakfast.

“Quality and cleanliness are the main priority in our restaurant. Hence the taste is also very good. The quality of the breakfast here is far better than other costly restaurants, ” Nagappa Pattar told the media after getting a good response from the public.

Pattar is an ardent admirer of PM Narendra Modi. He says that Modi is working day in and day out for the cause of the poor and he is extending his small contribution for Modi’s cause.
