Andhra Pradesh student identified in ISIS video

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been studying the latest 22-minute ISIS video released last week and have asked local sources across the country to help them establish the identity of the six Indian nationals featured in the video.

 

In the high-quality ISIS video, the Indian nationals vow to avenge the Muslims in India for Babri Masjid, Gujarat and Kashmir. 

 

 

Till last week, the NIA knew the identity of fve of the ISIS recruits from India. Two were identified as former Indian Mujahideen (IM) members - Mohammad Sajid, alias Bada Sajid, and Abu Rashid, alias Sheikh. Both of them hail from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Two of the youths were identified as Fahad Sheikh,  Aman Tandel alias Abu Salman al Hindi and Shaheem Tanki from Maharashtra.

 

According to a report in The Deccan Chronicle, the sixth ISIS recruit was found to be an engineering student from Andhra Pradesh, who was pursuing his studies in Texas. His name has not been released yet.

 

“We will return but with a sword in hand, to avenge the Babri Masjid, and the killings of Muslims in Kashmir, in Gujarat, and in Muzaffarnagar,” Fahad Tanvir Sheikh, a Thane engineering student from Thane (Mumbai) had said in the ISIS video released on May 19.
