Malayalam actress assault: Pulsar Suni's girlfriend in police custody

The Kerala police have taken Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni's girlfriend into custody for interrogation. It is suspected that she also was involved in the assault on the prominent actress.
In the meantime, the special police team probing the abduction and assault cast is yet to get any lead to suggest if Pulsar Suni was hired by somebody. The police also have been unable to recover the phone used by Pulsar Suni to tape the assault on the actress.
Police have sought the custody of two key accused, for a detailed interrogation after they gave conflicting statements during initial questioning.
During interrogation, Suni told police that his sole intention was to extort ₹50 lakh to lead a luxurious life with his girlfriend. The accused also reiterated his earlier claim that no one gave him any quotation to carry out the work and he said that to mislead the actress.
Police have ruled out the possibility of quotation but have demanded his custody as they are yet to recover the phone, which Suni claims to have disposed off in a canal.
Suni's lover was running a beauty parlour and boutique in Kadavantra in Ernakulam. Police suspect that the woman has a close relationship with Suni. There are reports that the woman had visited Suni in jail when he was caught in a case, earlier. Investigating authorities are looking into the possibility of her involvement in the incident.
The accused had told the actress that he got a quotation from a woman. However, police have not yet bought the statement of Suni that his sole intention was to blackmail the actress for money.
