4-year-old accidentally shoots at retired ISRO officer
Retired ISRO officer shot at by four year old boy:
Â
Govindappa,a retired ISRO officer, escaped death by literally an inch when a four-year-old misfired at him.
Â
The incident happened on Monday morning when he was reading the newspaper at his friend's place.
Â
Govindappa had come to meet Muniraju, a former corporator and BMP leader. Muniraju was not available at that time, Govindappa was flipping the pages of the newspaper while waiting for him.Â
Â
Suddenly, he heard a loud bang and before he could realise what had happened, the blood started to spill from his neck.
Â
As he looked around, Panduranga, a four-year-old old child ran away from him with a revolver. Meanwhile, Muniraju who incidentally, was the owner of the revolver, came back, saw Govindappa and took him to the nearby hospital.
Â
Â
The hospital authorities say he hasn’t suffered serious injury and that the bullet has passed through from the side of his neck.
Â
A case has been registered against Muniraju at Peenya station for negligence under IPC section 388 and also under arms act.
Â
Muniraju in his clarification to the police said that he has owned a revolver for the last 12 years and never used it.
Â
On Monday morning, he had gone out and as soon as he came home, forgot to keep the gun in a safe place and went to bathroom.
Â
"During that time, the boy took it and it fell down from his hands and accidentally fired at my friend, " he said.
Â
Meanwhile, TR Suresh, DCP North Division, who directed the jurisdictional police to register a case told the police to cancel Muniraju’s gun licence and seize the gun.
