Three Kannada films have been selected to be screened in the Indian Panorama section during the 47th International Film Festival of India, Goa which starts from November 20, 2016.

 

Kannada movies, ‘Allama’ by TS Nagabharana, ‘Harikatha Prasanga’ by Ananya Kasaravalli and ‘U turn’ by Pawan Kumar , have been selected by the jury out of the 38  Kannada entries in the Panorama section.

 

Internationally renowned movie ‘Thithi’, which bagged more than 16 awards, has not been selected as the movie was registered in the competition after the due date. Since 2008, this the first time three Kannada movies have been selected for screening.

 

The selection committee headed by SV Rajendra Singh (Babu) along with 13 members took 28 days to watch 260 movies, out of which 26 movies have been selected for screening in the Panorama section.

 

Film Federation of India has autonomously selected ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Sultan’ and ‘Airlift’ for the Panorama.
